Lotta Volkova was born in Vladivostok and moved to London where she studied art, photography and fashion at Central Saint Martins. She started her menswear label, Lotta Skeletrix in 2004 and it quickly got picked up by Rei Kawakubo and stocked at the Dover Street Market in London. She then went back to St Petersburg and after working with Gosha Rubchinskiy on various shoots and projects, she finally moved to Paris in 2007. She started styling accidentlally through meeting photographer Ellen Von Unwerth. They worked together on a few collaborations for various editorial and commercial projects.
Lotta has since consulted for Balenciaga, Vetements, and Gosha Rubchinskiy. She is the current Fashion Director At-Large for Re-Edition Magazine and Man About Town Magazine. Lotta also works for editorial clients such as AnOther, 032C, Document, System Magazine, Dazed and Confused, i-D, and VMan. Lotta is currently collaborating with photographers Juergen Teller, Harley Weir, Collier Schorr, Johnny Dufort, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Robi Rodriguez, Colin Dodgson, and Andrew Miksys to name a few.
